Giant Bell Peak
The altitude is 1,403 m. The mountain is about 200 m
high. There are many linearly distributed pits developed in the middle section,
about 1- 2 m high and about 0.5 m deep, with an oval shape. The mountain looks
like a bell and is smaller than the Holy Bell Peak. Therefore, it is called
as "Giant Bell Peak". It is the campanulate granite landform formed by the giant porphyritic
biotite granite of the Yanshanian
period through continuously detaching, disintegrating and collapsing along the
concentric layered joints parallellingthe slope surfaceunder the freezing
weathering. There is biotite quartz feldspar schist developed at the slope
surface of the mountain bottom, laminated in the granite in a layered form.
There are 5 layers from the top to bottom in total, about 196 m wide. These
layers extend from north to east.
