Organization in charge and management structure of the proposed Geopark

The organization in charge of Xinjiang KeketuohaiNational Geopark in the People’s Republic of China is the Department of Geological Environment of the Ministry of Land and Resources of the People’s Republic of China, and the competent organization in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the Department of Land and Resources of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The Management Committee of Xinjiang Fuyun KeketuohaiNational Geopark is formed by the organizations dispatched by Fuyun County Committee and Government. Such organizations are at county level. The quantity of approved posts for leaders is 5 (2 for principal and 3 for deputy), and that for department staff is 14. Meanwhile, 7 internal organizations are established, including the General Office, the Administrative & EmploymentDivision, the Bureau of Financial Statistics, the Planning and Construction Bureau, the DevelopmentBureau, the Authority of 6Tourism Attractions and the Authority of Mine Geopark.

Main functions of the Management Committee of Xinjiang Fuyun Koktokay National Geopark:

1）Be responsible for daily management over documents and data as well as administrativematters of the Management Committee.

2）Be responsible for management over execution of plans, design of project plans, and management over engineering construction, maintenance of infrastructures of the Geopark, etc.

3）Be responsible for protection of geological relics, scenic spotand sceneries, and natural and ecological environment as well as comprehensive governance on environment and sanitation of the scenic spot.

4）Be responsible for promotion and execution of the tourism development plan.

5）Be responsible for management and guidance of the tourism service industry of the Geopark.

6）Be responsible for budget estimate, financial final accounts, financial management of organizations, management of project cost, audit and supervision of financial and ticketing management of subordinate units.

7）Be responsible for daily management of the Geopark.
