Embroidered felt are called "Siermake" in Kazakh. Embroidered felt are mostly double-layered, durable, moisture-proof, cold-proof, and can beautify the interior, and they are also one of the indispensable dowries for Kazakh girls when they get married. Kazakh women make three types of embroidered felt: one is made of coloured cloth; the other is made of coloured felt; and the third is made of coloured pieces of felt combined with cloth.
