Tiemaike Cliff Paintings
The altitude is 1,308m.The cliff paintings spread over
five collapsed migmatitic granite walls, with an area of about 6m2,
including parallel patterns such as sheep, horses and hunters composed by
lines. Two walls of them have a great amount of paintings. A piece of cliff
painting is 1.8m high and 2.1m wide, having dozens of patterns; another piece
is 1.5m high and 1.2m wide, having only more than ten patterns.Line nicking of
the cliff paintings is 1-2 mm deep. It is distinguished for its weathering
color lighter than that of the rock face.The cliff paintings are lifelike, vividly
reflecting free and bold nomadic life of the Kazak people.
