On December 6, 2017, the Ministry of Education announced the first batch of "National Primary and Secondary School Students Study and Practice Education Base" list according to the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Carrying out the 2017 Annual Central Special Lottery Public Welfare Funds to Support Primary and Secondary School Students' Study and Practice Education Project Recommendation", naming 204 units such as the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution as the "National Primary and Secondary School Students Study and Practice Education Base". The unit was named "National Primary and Middle School Students Study and Practice Education Base"; up to now, Xinjiang has seven units selected as "National Primary and Middle School Students Study and Practice Education Base", namely: Urumqi Museum (Urumqi Revolutionary Historical Memorial Site Management Centre) --Mao Zemin's former residence, Hami City, Yizhou District of the Red Army West Road into Xinjiang Memorial Park, Beiting Imperial City Site (Jimusar County, Beiting Institute), Aksu Regional Museum, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum of Science and Technology, Xinjiang Ancient Ecological Park (Xinjiang Wild Horse Cultural Development Co., Ltd.), Xinjiang Culture Press. 1 unit selected "National Primary and Middle School Students Research and Practice Education Camp" for the Youth Activity Centre in Fuhai County, Altay Region. This time, Keketuohai UNESCO Global Geopark, with its high-quality geological environment, supporting facilities and professional teacher team, made every effort to declare the autonomous region's primary and secondary school students' study and practice education base.

Size

Relying on the geographical advantage, the proposed base has already carried out practical education activities for primary and secondary school students in batches. At present, the Yuanfang Hotel, the Northern Xinjiang Pearl Hotel and the Erqis Hotel are the designated hotels for accommodating primary and secondary school students for study, and the hotels can meet the catering and accommodation needs of 300 students participating in study activities at the same time, in addition to the normal reception of tourists. A study base with a capacity of 500 people is under construction. management committee of the Geopark is carrying out the old campus of the town of Keketuohai primary school renovation and decoration project, an investment of 7 million yuan, renovation of 1,500 square metres of buildings, renovation of the total study base total assets of 18,101,104 yuan. After completing the renovation, the research base will form a comprehensive research base with integrated teaching buildings, laboratories, dormitory buildings, canteens, playgrounds, activity centres and other integrated research bases. The project is expected to be completed in October 2019.

Educational Resources for Research and Practice

Keketuohai UNESCO Global Geopark has four advantageous resources, namely, practical education resources in geology, practical education resources in biology and other natural landscapes, practical education resources in humanities, and practical education resources in red, around which it carries out six thematic boards of study: the excellent traditional culture board, the revolutionary traditional education board, the national education board, the national defence science and industry board, the natural ecology board, and the labour practice board; it has set up the curriculum for the primary school, the junior high school and the senior high school stages respectively, and it actively introduces the domestic professional campsite education institutions, develops the education and teaching resources, and creates the high-quality study and practice bases.
