Geo-environmental restoration and ecological rehabilitation of the Irtysh River
They are mainly abandoned sand mining pits formed by previous generations who built roads and took materials for urban construction. Sand mining activities have changed the original geomorphology and damaged the original geological environment. The geological environment will be restored by means of cut-and-fill and mulching and greening, with an estimated volume of 2.27 million cubic metres of cut-and-fill and 1.56 million square metres of site-levelling works.
