Such many tribes and nations lived successively in Fuyun in the history of Fuyun County as Dingning, Saike, Xiongnu, Xianbei, Rouran, Turk, Mongolia and contemporary Kazakh.Fuyun County was governed by Xiongnu in the Han dynasty and by west Turk in the Sui and Tang dynasties. It was a fief of various princes from Mongolia in the Yuan dynasty, and a pasturing land of the Oirad nation in the Ming dynasty. And it was governed by the coordinating official in Khovd in the Qing dynasty. Then the People's Government of Fuyun County was established. After being updated and restructured continually, Fuyun County was officially approved as Keketuohai Town in 1984 and it was called the first town of Irtysh River. For thousands of years, people of all nationalities have jointly created the gorgeous prairie culture industriously, bravely, and wisely in the long-term historical development, and so the prairie culture became an important part of the history of the Chinese nation.The development of Keketuohai Town is closely connected to the construction of mining area. The rare metals as mineral resources were found here in 1930, and they were mined in a large scale by way of Sino-Soviet jointly operation in 1951, thus making Keketuohai become a vigorous small town for mining industry.
